Acumatica 2026 R2: Helping Distributors Ship with Confidence

Every Promise Starts in the Warehouse

Distributors rarely get the credit they deserve for making supply chain complexities look effortless. Behind every on-time delivery is a team managing inventory across multiple locations, coordinating with suppliers and carriers, and getting the right product to the right place at the right time

The pressure on that balancing act keeps growing. Customers expect clear delivery dates, shipping costs keep rising, and warehouse teams are asked to move more orders with the same number of people. When any one of those pieces breaks down, it shows up as a lost sale, a late shipment, or wasted steps on the warehouse floor.

The Acumatica R2 enhancements to Acumatica Distribution Edition adds new capabilities that help distributors do three things better: promise accurate delivery dates, make smarter shipping decisions, and run a more efficient warehouse.

ATP Dates: Promise Accurate Ship Dates (Even on Backorders)

Backorders happen all the time in distribution, and customers always want to know one thing: when will I actually get my full order?

Until now, answering that question was a manual scramble.

Acumatica 2026 R2 introduces available-to-promise (ATP) dates, which are calculated directly on a sales order line or for the entire order. Instead of looking only at what is on hand, the calculation looks ahead at incoming supply, including purchase orders, vendor lead times, transfers, receipts, and production, and compares it to existing demand, like open sales orders, allocations, and backorders. The result is the earliest date the full quantity can actually ship.

This means customers get a real, data-backed ship date when placing their order instead of simply hearing  an item is backordered. They get a clear answer based on facts to solidify their own supply chain plans.

ATP also shows the detail behind every date. Customer service reps can see exactly which documents are driving the date calculations and quickly test alternatives.

For high-volume teams, ATP dates can also be calculated in bulk across a batch of orders, such as overnight EDI or ecommerce orders, without opening each one separately.

ATP is flexible to configure. Teams define what counts as supply and demand with calculation rules, assign those rules to item classes, and turn on ATP for the order types that need it. They can set how far ahead the system looks for supply, with a 90-day horizon by default, and choose whether safety stock should be protected or included.

With ATP now featured in Acumatica Distribution Edition, customers will have fewer lost sales, faster, more confident answers, and consistent commitments.

Shipping Carrier Integration Enhancements: Make Smarter Shipping Decisions, Faster

Choosing a carrier is not only about price. Shipping teams are balancing cost, delivery commitments, and carrier preferences, all while keeping orders moving. Acumatica 2026 R2 includes several shipping carrier integration enhancements that make those decisions faster and more accurate.

Easier Rate Shopping

The shop for rates experience has been redesigned to make carrier selection quicker. The lowest-cost services rise to the top, users can filter to the specific carriers they want to compare, and clear shipment details make options easier to evaluate.

Two important dates are now built right into the comparison: the date the order is expected to ship and the date the customer requested it. Delivery dates that meet the customer’s request show in green, and late ones show in red. Teams can see at a glance whether the cheapest option works or whether spending a little more gets the shipment there on time. They can even adjust the ship date and refresh rates to uncover lower-cost options, and the shipment updates automatically when a new date is applied.

The result is faster carrier selection, fewer errors, better control over shipping spend, and more shipments arriving when customers expect them.

Address Verification Before the Label Prints

Even a small address error can lead to missed deliveries, rework, and unnecessary costs. With the EasyPost integration, Acumatica 2026 R2 introduces shipping address verification before a label is purchased.

If an address is valid, processing continues automatically with no interruption. If a correction is recommended, users see the original and suggested addresses side by side with the differences highlighted, then choose which one to use. Routine shipments keep flowing, exceptions get a quick review, and more packages reach the right place the first time.

More Low-Cost Carrier Options

Rising parcel costs are one of the biggest pressures distributors face. In 2026 R2, the EasyPost integration adds support for alternate low-cost carriers, including Veho, SmartCargo, and UniUni. These carriers appear side by side with traditional carriers in shop for rates, and teams can complete label creation and tracking in the same Acumatica workflow.

Each option brings a different delivery model. UniUni focuses on ecommerce and residential delivery across the U.S. and Canada, Veho pairs competitive rates with predictable pricing and real-time customer communication, and SmartCargo uses available airline cargo capacity to deliver air speed at competitive parcel rates.

Traditional carriers remain essential for broad coverage, but these alternatives give distributors more ways to reduce costs and diversify their carrier mix.

More Control and Continuity

Two additional updates give shipping teams more flexibility:

  • Carrier service mapping: As carriers introduce, rename, or retire services, authorized users can now create, update, and retire service mappings themselves for the EasyPost integration, instead of waiting on a metadata update. That means faster adoption of new carrier services and fewer interruptions.
  • Parcel Guard support: For the ShipStation API integration, new and existing customers can now select Parcel Guard for shipping insurance, while existing customers can continue using their current provider during the transition. Acumatica automatically passes the selected provider in shipment requests, so teams can switch at their own pace.

Pick Smarter and Keep Work Moving in the Warehouse

Picking only works when the picker knows which location to go to and what physical unit they will find there.

Acumatica 2026 R2 helps here with new warehouse management system (WMS) capabilities.

Handling Units, Warehouse Zones, and Picking Strategies

With the new warehouse planning strategies, distributors define three things once, and the system handles the rest:

  • Handling units: How each unit of measure is physically stored and moved, such as a pallet, a case, or a single unit. Two items that share a base unit, like a refrigerator and a floor fan, can be handled completely differently.
  • Warehouse zones: How locations are grouped to mirror the actual floor plan, such as storage, case picking, and each picking, up to six levels deep.
  • Picking strategies: Rules that pair each handling unit with a zone, like picking pallets from storage, cases from case picking, and single units from each picking. Strategies can be assigned to item classes or individual items.

Once set up, the strategy applies automatically every time a shipment is created. One order, one workflow, and no rerouting on the floor.

Reassign Pick Lists Without Losing Work

A pick list does not always end with the picker who started it.

In 2026 R2, supervisors can clear a picker from a pick list in progress with a single click. The list returns to the queue, ready for the next picker to take over. For single shipment and wave lists, the new picker scans the totes already holding picked items, confirms them, and continues with what is left. For batch lists, the picker confirms items already picked and finishes the rest as usual.

No wasted work, no starting over, and more consistent productivity across every shift. These updates build on Acumatica’s directed paperless picking capabilities and support the broader trends in warehouse automation distributors are embracing today.

Real Results: How NuvoH2O Grew with Acumatica Distribution Edition

The new 2026 R2 capabilities build on a Distribution Edition that is already helping distributors grow. NuvoH2O is a great example.

NuvoH2O provides salt-free water softening and filtration systems for homes, appliances, and RVs, along with a subscription cartridge replacement program. The company is a true omnichannel business.

After moving from Oracle NetSuite to Acumatica with implementation partner Collins Computing, NuvoH2O connected its ecommerce, EDI, and shipping solutions, including BigCommerce and Amazon, to a single system. The results speak for themselves:

  • 69% reduction in software costs in the first year
  • Doubled online transaction volume without adding headcount
  • More than quadrupled the total revenue it can ship in a single day
  • 72% of total revenue now comes from digital channels

“This is the best ERP system that we have ever utilized, and you can see it through the work itself and what it has been able to provide to us,” the NuvoH2O team shared.

Foire aux questions

What is new for distributors in Acumatica 2026 R2?

Acumatica 2026 R2 introduces available-to-promise dates on sales orders, shipping carrier integration enhancements including improved rate shopping, address verification, alternate low-cost carriers, carrier service mapping, and Parcel Guard support, plus WMS enhancements such as handling units, warehouse zones, picking strategies, and pick list reassignment.

How does ATP work in Acumatica?

ATP calculates the earliest date a full order quantity can ship by comparing on-hand and incoming supply, such as purchase orders, transfers, and production, against existing demand. Dates can be calculated for a single line, a full order, or a batch of orders.

Which low-cost carriers does Acumatica support through EasyPost?

EasyPost integration supports USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL Express, Amazon Shipping, Canada Post, and many regional and global carriers. In Acumatica 2026 R2, new alternate low-cost carriers are supported, including Veho, SmartCargo, and UniUni, which can be compared side by side with traditional carriers in shop for rates.

How do picking strategies improve warehouse efficiency?

Picking strategies pair handling units, such as pallets, cases, and single units, with warehouse zones. When a shipment is created, the system automatically splits the pick across the right zones and units, so pickers go to the right place for the right unit without rerouting. Acumatica’s native WMS supports single-shipment, wave, and batch picking, and its paperless picking queues let a warehouse manager assign pickers, set pick list priorities, and send pick lists to a live queue that pickers work through on mobile devices or scanners instead of printed lists.
